Inside Sales

Position Summary:

Ø Building material sales to professional builders, remodelers, and do-it-yourselfers

Ø Observe the Mission Statement, Value Statement, Service Promise and Safety Program

Essential Functions:

Ø #1 priority is to ensure customer satisfaction while never compromising safety

Ø Generate sales

Ø Determines customer’s needs

Ø Place special orders

Ø Coordinate deliveries

Ø Prepare quotes

Ø Troubleshoot customer problems

Ø Maintain showrooms

Ø Pull store items for delivery

Ø Provide accurate delivery instructions

Ø Communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with employees, management, customers, and suppliers

Ø Perform any special assignment/projects as required by the General Manager

Ø Asset preservation

Ø Adherence to all safety and fire regulations and anti-theft procedures

Ø Promote a positive image of BIG C

Education/Experience

Ø High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ø Building material knowledge

Ø Blueprint reading

Ø Basic computer skills

Ø Strong interpersonal communication skills

Ø Phone etiquette

Ø Ability to prioritize

Ø Ability to make change, handle money and process credit cards

Ø Able to routinely lift, carry and move 70#

Ø Ability sit and stand for long periods of time

Ø Ability to coordinate with a team

Ø Ability to adapt to in-house software

Expected Hours of Work

Ø Full-time

Ø Between the hours of 7am and 5pm

Ø Weekend hours on occasion
