Inspector

We are seeking a skilled CMM Inspector to join a prestigious motorsport client on a contract basis starting in November 2026 on long term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a high-performance engineering environment, supporting the inspection and quality assurance of precision components used in elite motorsport applications.

You will be responsible for operating CMM machines, interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models, carrying out dimensional inspections, and ensuring components meet tight quality and tolerance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Operate CMM machines to inspect complex precision components.

Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to verify dimensional accuracy.

Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections of machined and assembled parts.

Record, review and analyse measurement data to ensure compliance with tight tolerances.

Identify and communicate any dimensional or quality issues.

Work closely with engineering, production and quality teams to resolve inspection-related concerns.

Maintain accurate inspection records and support quality documentation requirements.

Contribute to continuous improvement activity across inspection and quality processes.

Use additional manual inspection equipment where required, including gauges, micrometers and other metrology tools.

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience within a precision engineering, motorsport, automotive, aerospace or advanced manufacturing environment.

Strong working knowledge of CMMs (preferably PC-DMIS).

Experience inspecting complex machined or assembled components.

Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and CAD models.

Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional inspection principles.

Experience carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection.

Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate quality concerns clearly.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Desirable Experience

Experience using additional metrology equipment such as height gauges, micrometers, verniers, surface finish testers or similar inspection tools.

Familiarity with ISO quality standards and quality documentation practices.

Previous experience working within motorsport, Formula 1, high-performance automotive, aerospace or precision machining environments.

Location & Working Pattern

Location: Woking

Working pattern: Days Monday to Friday

Office/site attendance: Full time on site

Contract rate: Hourly negotiable
