Inspector of Works (Data Centre)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A.     GENERAL

1. To study the contract documents and drawings and verify if there are any discrepancies among the drawings. All discrepancies shall be brought to the attention of the Design Team concerned;
2. To ensure that all installation methods and material used are in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications;
3. To liaise with the contractors and the Design Team in the checking and approval of shop drawings, catalogues and samples;
4. To monitor and ensure that the site programme is in accordance with the approved construction programme;
5. To ensure that the contractors maintain work safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the site.

B.     TECHNICAL

1. To check on site that all installation works are based on the approved methods;
2. To ensure that the contractors complete all works for purpose of CCC inspections;
3. To review and manage all the shop drawings and as-built drawings submissions;
4. To review all Operation and Maintenance Manuals submissions from the Contractor.

C.     PROJECT ADMINISTRATION

1. To check and record the contractor’s site progress;
2. To maintain record of daily activities on site and all other records as directed/required by the Project Team or any parties approved by the Project Team;
3. To generate defects list, supervise and monitor progress of rectification works and ensure all defects are rectified as per Consultant’s advice;
4. To conduct actual site check in conjunction with the Assistants to the Superintending Officer’s Representatives in assessing disputable claims & variation orders by the Contractor, when necessary;
5. To ensure that the contractors record accurately on drawings, the installation works on site.

D.     ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

1. To assist SRE / RA to ensure that the contractors adhere fully with EHS management systems including contractor’s weekly submissions, including but not limited to, daily site inspections, EHS meetings, weekly environmental reports and EHS reports, noise, dust, vibration, vector control and site housekeeping reports;
2. To attend on behalf of and/or and accompany all meetings with stakeholders and all authorities’ inspections on site for updates as and when required by the Employer or SOR or SORA.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Possess a Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent;
2. Possesses 5 – 10 years of relevant site experience in Building Construction / Architecture;
3. Registered with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (registered inspector of works) is required;
4. Conversant with local codes and regulations;
5. Strong co-ordination skills between clients / sub-consultants / contractors / authorities etc;
6. This scope is mainly cover for Interior works and interfacing of architectural works, prior experience in Architectural Interior design and construction works is preferrable;
7. Registered with CIDB and possesses valid CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card (CIDB Green Card).
