Installation Design Electrical Engineer

Akkodis is looking for an Installation Design Electrical Engineer to join our team in Charleroi and contribute to railway rolling-stock projects.

For one of our railway projects, we are looking for an engineer who will transform electrical design principles into concrete onboard installation solutions.

🎯 The Assignment

As an Installation Design Electrical Engineer , you will be part of the Installation Design team. You will work closely with project members, customers, suppliers, auditors and mechanical engineering teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Participating in train surveys to define the electrical installation principles
• Preparing descriptive documentation of the proposed installation solutions for customer approval
• Transforming electrical schematics and principles into concrete onboard installations
• Creating the Bill of Materials for the electrical installation while considering train constraints and applicable standards
• Producing final electrical schematics and the associated wiring lists
• Designing electrical harnesses in accordance with railway standards
• Writing technical specifications for harness production
• Collaborating with mechanical engineers to define the part breakdown structure and final installation solution
• Preparing installation procedures describing the activities to be performed on the train
• Coordinating with internal project teams and external stakeholders throughout the design process

👤 Who are you?

• You hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
• You have previous experience in electrical design within an engineering department
• You are comfortable translating electrical schematics into practical installation solutions
• You work with precision and are able to produce clear, concise and structured technical documentation
• You are autonomous, proactive and persistent
• You communicate effectively with multidisciplinary and international stakeholders
• You enjoy working as part of a technical project team

💡 What we’re looking for

• Experience with E3.series/E3S , EPLAN or similar electrical design software
• Knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring lists, cable harnesses and Bills of Materials
• Previous experience in the railway sector is considered a strong asset
• Knowledge of the V-cycle development process is an asset
• Experience with PLM tools, particularly ENOVIA , is an asset
• Good command of English, with a minimum FCE level
• Knowledge of French is an asset
• Availability for occasional short business trips, mainly within Europe
