The successful candidate will be confident managing multiple projects simultaneously, building strong client relationships and driving efficiency across engineering teams to maximise productivity and project profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Programme works in line with client timescales and available resources.
  • Agree project start dates with clients and ensure all required materials are ordered and delivered to meet installation schedules.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and managing expectations.
  • Liaise with site engineers to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements, specifications and timescales.
  • Ensure engineers are fully prepared prior to attending site, including:
    • Layout drawings
    • Equipment details
    • Project timescales
    • Risk Assessments and Method Statements where required
    • Health & Safety checklists
  • Arrange overnight accommodation where required.
  • Manage project variations, ensuring all changes are priced, agreed with the client, actioned and recorded.
  • Ensure unused materials are returned to stores and correctly recorded on internal systems.
  • Collect and review all project completion documentation, including Commissioning Certificates, Service Level Agreements, Keyholder Details and As-Fitted Drawings.
  • Manage engineer deployment and utilisation to maximise efficiency and productivity throughout the working week.
  • Review project costings and invoicing to ensure all labour, materials and variations are charged correctly.
  • Conduct site audits in line with NSI standards and company requirements.
  • Attend and contribute to operational and project meetings as required.
  • Review and action outcomes from monthly Health & Safety audits.
  • Monitor material wastage and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Continuously review project delivery methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide regular progress updates to relevant managers on project status and additional works identified on site.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the business.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing projects from commencement through to completion within a fire or security environment.
  • Experience planning workloads, scheduling resources and managing field-based engineers.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build professional relationships, manage expectations and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Experience coordinating installation projects to strict deadlines whilst maintaining quality and budget controls.
  • Proven ability to manage project documentation, handovers and completion records.
  • Experience managing project variations, additional works and associated commercial processes.
  • Strong understanding of resource planning, material management and engineer utilisation.
  • Experience reviewing project costs and supporting accurate invoicing processes.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a site-based environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.
