What they need

Installer

SE Retail is seeking a hands-on Installer to join our team. In this role, you will help bring retail spaces to life by installing décor, fixtures, cabinetry, displays, millwork, wallpaper, and vinyl at client sites. This position offers exposure to both production and field installation environments and is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, travel, problem solving, and delivering quality results.

This is a driving and travel-based position that requires frequent out-of-town work during the week and, at times, on weekends. SE Retail provides transportation to job sites, company-paid hotels while traveling, and a weekly meal per diem after the first week out.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to travel out of town frequently and work flexible hours and/or weekends as needed.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and the ability to drive a company vehicle in accordance with company policy.

  • Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints while meeting quality standards.

  • Must be able to read, understand, and interpret paperwork, labels, and measurements, including using a tape measure.

  • Must be able to work independently using sound problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more on occasion.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience installing cabinetry, carpentry, millwork, décor, fixtures, wallpaper, wallcoverings, or vinyl graphics in a retail environment.

  • Preferred experience preparing wall surfaces, measuring and cutting wallcovering materials, matching patterns, applying adhesive-backed or pasted materials, trimming edges, smoothing bubbles or wrinkles, and completing clean finish work.

  • Experience with field remodels, shop drawings, blueprints, measurements, and specifications.

  • Working knowledge of basic materials, including wood, plastic laminates, hardware, and related installation materials.

  • Experience installing laminate on finished items.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install fixtures, décor items, displays, trellis, cabinetry, wallpaper, vinyl wallcoverings, vinyl graphics, and other wood or finish components at client sites.

  • Prepare surfaces and install wallpaper, wallcoverings, and vinyl graphics by measuring areas, laying out material, cutting to size, aligning patterns or graphics, applying material smoothly, trimming edges, and correcting bubbles, wrinkles, seams, or adhesion issues as needed.

  • Measure, fit, fasten, and adjust components to meet project specifications and quality standards.

  • Set up and operate woodworking equipment, including table saws, miter boxes, and power saws, to complete minimal cuts and custom fixture adjustments.

  • Use hand tools and equipment such as drills, sanders, nail guns, routers, chisels, and wood files to complete installation and finishing work.

  • Sand, scrape, trim, and prepare surfaces and joints for finishing as needed.

  • Install hardware such as hinges, catches, drawer pulls, knobs, and related fixture components.

  • Complete occasional sheetrock work, painting, ladder work, and scaffolding work as required by the project.

  • Track and turn in labor and material information for assigned projects.

  • Maintain a clean work area and take responsibility for assigned hand tools and equipment.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive pay based on experience.

  • Company-provided tools assigned upon hire; no personal tools required.

  • Transportation provided to and from job sites.

  • Company-paid hotels while on the road.

  • Weekly meal per diem paid on Mondays after the first week out.

  • PTO after 90 days of employment.

  • Benefits eligibility on the first day of the month after 60 days of employment.
