Install/Project Engineer

Lead security systems installations from survey through to handover, supporting successful project delivery across a range of customer sites.

Working closely with the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of security projects, overseeing day-to-day site operations and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Combining strong technical expertise with hands-on leadership, you will support engineers and subcontractors, build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, and help maintain the company's reputation for excellence.

This is a hands-on role with a strong site presence, requiring excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the ability to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and support a range of systems including IDS, ACS and CCTV
• Act as the key on-site support to the Project Manager, assisting in project delivery from survey through to completion
• Conduct site surveys and support project planning and coordination
• Liaise with clients, site supervisors and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
• Take ownership of day-to-day site activity, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard
• Supervise and support engineers and subcontractors, providing guidance and resolving on-site issues
• Maintain a strong on-site presence, leading teams and ensuring high levels of performance and engagement
• Remain hands-on where required, supporting installation and commissioning activities
• Carry out engineer and subcontractor audits to ensure Health & Safety and quality compliance
• Take ownership of O&M manuals, handover documentation and associated project paperwork
• Support commissioning activities and deliver system training to end users
• Identify and resolve project challenges, providing practical and effective solutions
• Ensure all works are delivered in line with NSI standards and company expectations
• Maintain a proactive and flexible approach, including working overtime where required
• Travel and stay away from home where necessary
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies

Experience

• Experience in the security industry
• Proven experience installing systems from 1st fix through to commissioning and handover
• Demonstrable experience supervising site-based projects or teams
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and support engineers effectively
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practice
• Experience working with large-scale, networked security systems
• Excellent communication skills with confidence dealing with clients and stakeholders
• Proactive, hands-on approach with a “can-do” attitude
• Ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers
• Full, clean UK driving licence
