Institutional Driver

Primary Responsibilities:

• Checks packaged meals and labeled bags against the delivery slip.
• Conducts food temperature checks as requested
• Call dispatch for instructions if there is no answer at the delivery site
• Reports immediately the inability to reach a participant, by calling dispatch
• Follows professional and company/agency standards for client confidentiality
• Attends appropriate training sessions as required by City Fresh Foods Policy
• Maintain safety and care in operation of a delivery vehicle
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid Mass driver’s license required
• Must have a clean driving record
• Ability to read and speak English required
• Bilingual – Proficient in English and Spanish or Cape Verdean desired
• On your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to enter and exit vehicle multiple times a day
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Follow CFF protocols and guidelines
• Company vehicle provided if Institutional driver (HDM drivers may use own vehicle)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrate good communication skills
• Ability to carry out instructions
• Relate in a positive manner to agency staff and the elderly population served
• Time management skills desired
• CDL not required but would be welcomed
