Indiana Tech is seeking an innovative, analytical, and collaborative professional to serve as its Institutional Intelligent Operations Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director of the AI Institute, this position will lead the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence-enabled tools, automation, and analytics across Indiana Tech’s academic and administrative operations. The Institutional Intelligent Operations Manager serves as the operational bridge connecting the AI Institute, the Learning Exchange, Information Technology, and university departments to identify, evaluate, implement, and scale technology solutions that improve efficiency, decision-making, and the overall institutional experience.

This role serves as the technical and operational backbone behind several of Indiana Tech’s strategic AI initiatives, including the Warrior AI Digital Learning Hub, readiness-survey analytics, curriculum evaluation platforms, Learning Exchange systems, and Employer Portal technologies. The successful candidate will help ensure that AI-powered solutions are implemented responsibly, securely, and in compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.

Primary responsibilities include identifying opportunities for AI-enabled automation and analytics, evaluating new technologies and vendors, managing intelligent-operations pilot projects, and collaborating with campus stakeholders to redesign processes around AI-assisted tools. The Manager will oversee projects from concept through implementation, helping departments realize operational efficiencies, improve services, and strengthen data-informed decision-making.

The Institutional Intelligent Operations Manager serves as the AI Institute’s operational liaison to Information Technology and the University AI Council, evaluating AI tools and vendors for privacy, security, and compliance risks prior to implementation. This position will maintain the university’s inventory of AI tools and their associated data flows, support institutional compliance reviews, establish dashboards and performance metrics, provide change-management support, and monitor emerging technologies that may benefit Indiana Tech.

Working collaboratively with leaders across Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Finance, Enrollment Services, Information Technology, the Learning Exchange, and the AI Institute, the Manager will help drive innovative solutions that support both academic and operational excellence. The position also contributes to staff development, supports strategic initiatives, and advances Indiana Tech’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, data analytics, operations, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education administration, information technology, operations, process improvement, or project leadership.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of generative AI technologies, automation tools, and analytics platforms, as well as their administrative and academic applications. The successful candidate must understand data-privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance considerations associated with emerging technologies, particularly within higher education environments.

The position requires demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects, implementing process improvements, and managing initiatives involving diverse stakeholder groups. Candidates must possess strong organizational, project-management, vendor-evaluation, written communication, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions for non-technical audiences.

Experience evaluating, implementing, or scaling AI-enabled tools, automation technologies, or analytics platforms across multiple business functions is required. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to build consensus and guide change across departments with different priorities and operational needs.

Preferred Skills and Experience

A master’s degree in information technology, business administration, data analytics, organizational leadership, or a related field is preferred.

Additional preferred qualifications include experience working with FERPA, GLBA, or similar data-privacy and compliance frameworks; experience managing technology vendors and procurement processes; and familiarity with institutional governance, data management, and technology assessment practices.

Preference will also be given to candidates who have successfully led digital-transformation initiatives, developed operational dashboards and analytics frameworks, implemented AI-enabled business processes, or supported large-scale organizational change efforts involving technology adoption.

Opportunity and Impact

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking professional to help shape how Indiana Tech responsibly adopts and scales artificial intelligence across the institution. The Institutional Intelligent Operations Manager will play a central role in improving operational efficiency, strengthening compliance and governance practices, and enabling faculty and staff to leverage emerging technologies in meaningful and sustainable ways.

Success in this role will be measured by the number and impact of intelligent-operations projects successfully scaled into standard practice, documented operational improvements, successful AI compliance reviews, adoption of AI-enabled workflows, and the ongoing maintenance of institutional AI governance and reporting systems.

Why Indiana Tech?

Indiana Tech is a private, nonprofit university committed to innovation, collaboration, and student success.
