Instructional Assistant

Position: Instructional AssistantWhately Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to support both the general education classroom environment and provide focused, individualized support to students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping all students achieve their full potential.Responsibilities: Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.Provide small group instruction in various subject areas (e.g., literacy, math).Help manage classroom behavior and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times.Support the implementation of classroom routines and procedures.Assist with classroom organization and maintenance.Work individually with students with disabilities to implement IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals under the direction of the special education teacher and lead teacher.Help students develop self-advocacy skills and independence.Collaborate with the special education teacher, lead teacher, and other support staff to ensure consistent and effective support.Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the student.Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, required.Associates Degree or higher, preferred.Experience working with children, preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.Must pass a CORI check.AA/EOEFrontier Regional and Union #38 School Districts are committed to maintaining a work and learningenvironment free from discrimination and/or harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
