Instructional Designer

CTIA is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join us on a contract basis while we conduct our search for a permanent team member. This is a great opportunity for a skilled learning design professional looking for flexible, high-impact contract work.

About the Role

You will design and develop engaging, effective learning experiences — translating subject-matter content into well-structured courses, modules, and training materials that meet clear learning objectives. You will work closely with subject-matter experts and internal stakeholders throughout the design process.

Key Responsibilities

• Design instructionally sound courses, modules, and learning materials (in-person, virtual, or e-learning)
• Apply learning design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to structure content and activities
• Write clear learning objectives and align content, activities, and assessments to them
• Develop storyboards, scripts, and interactive e-learning content
• Create assessments, job aids, and facilitator/participant guides
• Collaborate with SMEs to convert technical or complex content into accessible learning
• Review and update existing training materials for quality and relevance
• Support the selection and use of authoring tools and LMS platforms as needed

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an instructional designer or learning experience designer
• Strong grasp of adult learning theory and instructional design models
• Experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Captivate) a plus
• Excellent writing, storyboarding, and content structuring skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
