Instructor

Teach courses in the discipline as assigned by the dean or chair; provide academic advising to students; maintain an active scholarly agenda of research and service; serve on departmental, school, and college committees; engage in assessment requirements; participate in community service and outreach programs; and work collaboratively with colleagues and other programs.

Teach 12 sch per semester

• Provide advising to assigned students
• Participate in curriculum development, assessment of student learning outcomes, and co-curricular enhancements
• Serve on committees on department, school, and college levels
• Engage in scholarly research appropriate for rank
• Participate in public service initiatives

Record of (or demonstrated potential for) successful college teaching

• Familiarity with development and implementation of courses using Open Educational Resources and virtual platforms
• Demonstrated interest in facilitating student learning and engagement
• Demonstrated commitment to professional responsibilities, student development, and service

Minimum Qualifications

• Earned master’s degree in the teaching discipline
• Commitment to excellence in college teaching and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity
• Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning
• Ability to demonstrate collegiality and a sound work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) or more years of teaching experience in higher education
• Record of teaching effectiveness
• Experience with learning management systems and online teaching and learning
