Mullingar Community Training Centre offers an instructor’s position with initial duties to deliver a QQI level 4 Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Skills course. The course includes general learning and life-skills modules which may be subject to change. The role demands a safe structured environment to be created for Early School Leaver learners with adjustment of approach in responding to their learning needs. The ideal candidate must work as part of a team, be comfortable working in a combination of classroom and workshop environments, show flexibility, initiative and be solution focused. Our Training Centre participates in Erasmus+ and the successful applicant must possess the skills to enhance, participate in and support in coordinating this valuable programme.

Instructor (12 Month Contract commencing early 2027)

Desired Skills and Qualifications for Successful Applicants;

A Qualification in:

• An area relevant to the course of at least QQI Level 7
• Teaching/Training or similar of at least QQI level 7
• Additional qualifications to support application or possible future direct of programme an advantage

Proven & relevant experience in:

• Areas such as Milling, Turning, Welding, Pneumatics, Technical Drawing, etc.
• Training new learners/apprentices/employees to competent standards
• Running a workshop within required guidelines (H&S, Machine Maintenance, Safe working practices)

Proven ability to:

• Provide guidance, support, encouragement and motivate learners/young people
• Integrate, update and develop course content & tailor tutoring approaches for individual learners’ needs
• Work effectively as part of a team in achieving goals
• A working knowledge of the employer’s expectations in Ireland and the ability to support learners in reaching these.

The starting salary for this post is €33,254 based on 35 hour on-site week.
