Instrument Engineer / Senior Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promoting a safe and healthy work environment including leading by example in the development of and adherence to safe systems of work.
• Process Control leadership to ensure automation systems meet the technical and quality requirements.
• Development and continuous improvement of PID systems and equipment in line with site master plan.
• Lead troubleshooting and maintenance of automation equipment.
• Deliver Engineering to a high Industrial standard with a focus of safety in design.
• Provides mentoring of Instrumentation technicians to ensure a system is in place for inspection, calibration and repair of all instrumentation devices including transmitter, transducer, control valve etc; mill wide.
• Develop the comprehensive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance plan.
• Responsible on machine downtime and oversee the division cost.
• Ensure all machinery is at high availability and that an effective maintenance strategy is in place.
• Ensure Spare Part availability and sourcing for alternating.
• Ensure all software and hardware spare part of PLC, DCS and HMI are available and that an effective maintenance strategy is in place.
• Involve and develop 5S best practices and implement safety best practices.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for machinery health, machine down time, root cause failure analysis, division cost breakdown, manpower allocation and PARETO.
• Uphold and ensure adherence to all applicable environmental, safety, and health regulations, as well as company policies and standards, fostering a culture of compliance and risk management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Candidates with strong written and spoken Mandarin proficiency will have an added advantage.
