Instrument Technician

We are looking for a skilled Instrumentation Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and support instrumentation and control systems in our rice processing/milling plant. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation of field instruments, control panels, sensors, and automation systems to minimize plant downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain sensors, transmitters, switches, controllers, and field instruments.
• Maintain instrumentation used in rice milling, grain handling, cleaning, drying, husking, polishing, grading, sorting, and packing sections.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC, HMI, VFD, control panels, and automation systems.
• Handle calibration and maintenance of temperature, pressure, level, flow, moisture, and other process instruments.
• Check and maintain proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, limit switches, load cells, solenoid valves, pneumatic systems, and related devices.
• Attend instrumentation-related breakdowns and ensure minimum production downtime.
• Carry out routine inspection, testing, calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of instrumentation and automation equipment.
• Maintain records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance, calibration, spare parts, and repairs.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Production, and Maintenance teams for smooth plant operation.
• Ensure proper cable routing, instrument connections, panel wiring, and electrical/instrumentation safety.
• Maintain adequate critical instrumentation spares and report requirements to the maintenance team.
• Follow plant safety, housekeeping, and standard operating procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• ITI / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Experience in rice mills, grain processing plants, food processing plants, FMCG, or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.
• Practical knowledge of PLC, HMI, VFD, sensors, transmitters, control panels, and industrial automation.
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical/instrumentation drawings.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns when required.
• Strong focus on safety, reliability, and preventive maintenance.
