Instrument Valve Engineer

Job Summary

The Instrument Valve Engineer shall be responsible for the engineering, specification, sizing, selection, technical evaluation and vendor coordination of control valves, shutdown/on-off valves, actuators and associated instrumentation. The engineer will ensure that valves and accessories comply with process requirements, project specifications, safety requirements and applicable international standards.

The position works closely with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Clients, and Vendors throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and review control valve and actuated valve datasheets and specifications.
• Perform/review valve sizing, Cv calculations and valve/trim selection.
• Perform/review actuator sizing and selection of valve accessories.
• Prepare Material Requisitions and Technical Bid Evaluations.
• Review vendor quotations, sizing calculations, drawings and technical documents.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Control System and Procurement disciplines.
• Participate in P&ID, HAZOP, SIL, Cause & Effect and design reviews as required.
• Support FAT, construction, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements and applicable international standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a Bachelor graduate of any Engineering course
• At least (10) ten years of extensive experience in Valve design work with relevant field engineering and/or site supervision
• Can check Engineering documents and calculation sheets.
• Can execute and supervise field engineering work.
• Must be a computer literate in MS Office.
• With good oral and written communication.
