What they need

Company Description Mbroh Engineering, Inc. provides planning, engineering, design, and construction management and inspection services for water and wastewater facilities, industrial plants, ports, transit systems, airports, and commercial complexes. The team brings deep expertise in electrical, instrumentation and control (I&C), SCADA, automation, security design, and transportation services, enabling a strong systems-level understanding of how all components work together. By combining design services with on-site construction management, Mbroh offers clients rigorous quality assurance and quality control. This integrated approach supports fewer change orders, cost and schedule savings, and successful delivery of complex projects from concept through commissioning.

Role Description This full-time Instrumentation and Control Engineer role is a hybrid position based in Houston, TX. The engineer will design, specify, and integrate instrumentation and control systems for water, wastewater, industrial, and infrastructure projects, including development of P&IDs, control philosophies, and I/O lists. Daily responsibilities include preparing control system design documents and drawings, selecting and specifying instruments and control equipment, and coordinating with electrical engineers, project managers, and construction teams. The role involves supporting PLC/SCADA configurations, performing control logic reviews, and assisting with system testing, startup, and commissioning. The engineer will also participate in field investigations, respond to RFIs, support construction oversight, and contribute to project schedules, cost estimates, and technical reports.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Control Engineering and Control Systems Design, including development of control strategies, P&IDs, and control narratives.
  • Experience with Process Control and Instrumentation, including selection, specification, and calibration of field instruments for industrial and municipal applications.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles as they relate to power distribution, motor control, and integration of I&C systems with electrical infrastructure.
  • Ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary project teams and collaborate with clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation, or a closely related discipline.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial communication protocols, and relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills, with attention to detail and documentation quality.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure is preferred; experience in water/wastewater or industrial facilities is beneficial.
