Instrumentation Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Construction Phrase

• Review instrumentation design, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Supervise installation of field instruments, control systems, and cabling works.
• Perform loop checking, calibration, and functional testing of instruments.
• Coordinate with Main contractors and vendors for installation and technical matters.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety, and quality standards.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Production Phrase

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of plant-wide instrumentation and automation control systems.
• Develop instrumentation calibration plans, maintenance procedures, and emergency response plans.
• Responsible for instrumentation selection, installation, commissioning, and technical upgrades.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in refinery, petrochemical, or EPC projects
• Experience in instrumentation system design, installation, and commissioning
• Familiar with control systems and field instrumentation
• Knowledge of loop checking, calibration, and testing procedures
• Familiar with industry standards and specifications
• Ability to support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
• Familiar with AutoCAD or other similar drawing software, with ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience in instrumentation/equipment selection, technical evaluation, and procurement activities
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or eligible for registration
• Knowledge of safety systems is an advantage
• Good command of English and Mandarin is an added advantage
