What they need

You will be responsible for providing day-to-day account administration and broker support across an Australian insurance brokerage, ensuring client accounts, policies, documentation, and processing requirements are managed accurately and efficiently. This is a delivery-focused role, and responsibilities may extend beyond those listed below to support brokers, maintain strong client service, and ensure insurance accounts are managed in a timely and compliant manner.

You will work closely with insurance brokers, clients, insurers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to support new business, renewals, policy changes, documentation, account administration, and general broking activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound knowledge of Australian general insurance processes, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist brokers with the management of new business, renewals, policy amendments, cancellations, and other account servicing requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain insurance documentation, including policy schedules, certificates, renewal documentation, invoices, and correspondence.
  • Liaise with clients, insurers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to obtain information, provide updates, and follow up outstanding requirements.
  • Assist with renewal preparation by reviewing existing policy information, obtaining updated client details, and coordinating renewal documentation.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, and other transactions accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate client and policy records within the brokerage management system and ensure all relevant documentation and file notes are up to date.
  • Assist with premium, invoice, and account administration, including following up outstanding information and supporting credit control processes where required.
  • Monitor outstanding tasks, policy requirements, and renewal activities to ensure deadlines are met and matters are escalated to the broker when required.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the broker and wider broking team, including reporting, document management, correspondence, and claims or client follow-up as required.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and the broker's instructions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years' experience in an Australian general insurance brokerage, preferably in an Insurance Account Assistant, Broker Assistant, Account Executive Support, or similar role.
  • Current Tier 2 General Insurance accreditation is required.
  • Strong understanding of Australian general insurance products, broking processes, policy administration, renewals, endorsements, and client servicing.
  • Previous experience supporting an Australian insurance broker, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Previous experience working with a Steadfast broker or within the Steadfast network is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience using Insight, WinBEAT, or similar insurance brokerage management systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and commitment to maintaining accurate client, policy, and financial records.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with clients, brokers, insurers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise competing tasks, meet deadlines, and proactively follow up outstanding matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other cloud-based business systems, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms and processes.
