Insurance Authorization Specialist

The Authorization Coordinator assists the agency’s billing department. Effective communication and ability to meet deadlines. We are looking specifically for a candidate that has experience with general authorizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

. Ensure that all assigned authorizations are researched and resolved within appropriate time restraints.

· Assists with Medicare and Insurance billing

· Assists with coordinate claim status

· Assists with rejections and returned claims, performing all necessary follow up to ensure collection of payments

· Properly document accounts clearly and status activity

· Assists with filing of Medicare billing, meets deadlines for NOA, 30 day and 60 day filing.

· Clarifying any information that is not clear

· Assist with audits

· Assists with preparing and submitting supply lists for billing

· Participate in staff meetings.

· Maintain an on-going knowledge of current Medicare and Insurance billing requirements

· All other duties as assigned

JOB CONDITIONS

· Requires working at the Sarasota Office

· Position is stressful in terms of meeting deadlines

· Physical activities will include walking, sitting, stooping, and standing and minimal lifting of objects less than 20 pounds.

· The ability to communicate, both, verbally, and in writing, is required as frequent communication, by telephone, and in writing in English, is required.

· Adequate hearing on the telephone with no more than an amplifier

Requirements:

• CEU on Elderly Abuse, Human Trafficking and Alzheimer's/Dementia
