Insurance Claims Executive

The objective of the job

Process motor insurance claims for EAuto's customers from notification through to settlement, so that a buyer whose vehicle is damaged is not left chasing anyone.

Key responsibilities

1. Register new claims and verify policy coverage against the insurer's schedule
2. Coordinate vehicle inspection and repair authorisation with the panel workshop
3. Follow up with adjusters and insurers until settlement is confirmed in writing
4. Keep the customer informed at every stage without waiting to be asked

Education / qualification

Diploma or Degree in Insurance, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification such as MII.

Work experience

At least 2 years handling motor insurance claims, either with an insurer, an adjuster or a dealership. Panel workshop experience is an advantage.

Job requirements

1. Must have working knowledge of Malaysian motor insurance policy wording and excess rules
2. Willing to liaise directly with adjusters, workshops and distressed customers
3. Confident in Excel and in an insurer's own claims portal
4. Spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia and English

Knowledge

1. Motor insurance policy wording and the claims process end to end
2. PIAM guidelines as they apply to a dealership

Skills

1. Claims portal and document handling to an auditable standard
2. Negotiating repair authorisation with a workshop

1. Tells a customer bad news early rather than letting it arrive by surprise
