What they need
Insurance Coverage Attorney
Hybrid – New York City
$150,000–$230,000
If you've built your experience in insurance coverage but you're starting to think about better-quality work, more variety and what the next stage of your career could look like , this opportunity is worth exploring.
You don't have to be actively looking. Sometimes it's simply worth knowing whether there's something better out there.
The Opportunity:
I'm working with a highly regarded mid-sized New York City firm that's continuing to grow its Insurance Coverage practice.
This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated and varied coverage matters across CGL, D&O, E&O, EPL, professional liability, commercial property & casualty and more.
The role is hybrid , and you'll have the chance to take real ownership of your matters while working alongside an experienced team on interesting, complex coverage issues.
What Will You Actually Be Doing?
You'll be involved across the full lifecycle of coverage matters, combining detailed policy analysis with hands-on litigation and direct client interaction.
Your work will include:
- Analyzing complex insurance coverage and policy issues
- Drafting pleadings, motions and coverage opinions
- Advising clients and providing practical, commercially focused guidance
- Handling litigation in state and federal courts
- Representing clients in negotiations, hearings and other proceedings
- Staying ahead of developments and emerging issues within insurance law
It's a good mix for someone who enjoys the technical side of coverage work but still wants to be actively involved in litigation and client relationships.
Who Are They Looking For?
Ideally, you'll have 2–8 years of insurance coverage and policy analysis experience , alongside a strong understanding of coverage disputes and policy interpretation.
You'll need admission to the New York and/or New Jersey Bar , while Pennsylvania admission would be an advantage.
They're particularly interested in attorneys with strong research and writing skills and experience handling litigation from inception through trial.
Why Consider It?
Because your next move should give you something more than a salary increase.
More sophisticated matters. Broader coverage exposure. Hybrid flexibility. Strong client contact. And the opportunity to keep developing within an established practice.
Compensation is $150,000–$230,000 depending on experience.
If you've started wondering whether there's a firm out there that might offer you a better long-term fit, I'd be happy to tell you more.
Send me your resume and I'll talk you through the firm, the team and what the opportunity could look like for you.
And if this particular role isn't quite right, I work with firms across the East Coast and would be happy to have a confidential conversation about what you're looking for next.
If you'd rather talk than apply, call me on 332 777 6411. I know court appearances, depositions and the small matter of actually billing your hours don't always leave much room in your day.
Other offers great for you!
