Insurance Processor

Salary $55,000 to $70,000 Base + Bonus

We are seeking a detailed-oriented Insurance Processor to manage our customer property damage claims from inspection through final payment. In this role, you will act as the link between our field production team, our homeowners, and insurance adjusters. Your primary objective is to review damage estimates, submit supplements, and ensure our exterior construction projects are approved and paid accurately by insurance carriers.

Role Summary: This person will own the insurance jobs after the sale

• Review the scope of each insurance claim against our project estimate
• Decide whether a job goes to production or requires claim supplements first
• Coordinate supplements with our outside supplement team
• Support our customers through the claims and supplementing process by setting expectations and providing regular updates and great communication
• Ensure approved supplements, insurance payments, and out-of-pocket expenses or upgrades are sufficient to complete the work seamlessly, and to company standards

Key Responsibilities:

Claim Documentation and Submission:

• Review Files: Examine field inspection photos, scope sheets and initial estimates for accuracy.
• Write Estimates: Utilize Acculynx’s to draft and format precise property damage estimates.
• Submit packages: Compile and send comprehensive claim packages to insurance companies, including photo evidence and code requirements.

Submit Packages and Process Supplements:

• Oversee Supplementing: Send jobs to our outside supplement team, including hidden damage found during the build.
• Update Homeowners: Track their turnaround and follow up so nothing goes dark.
• Move the jobs forward: Bring approved supplements back to the job and the rep to greenlight the jobs for scheduling.

Customer and Internal communication

• Support the Reps: Be the go-to person for claim support: scope questions, adjuster meetings, reinspections, denied or partial claims. Coach reps on the insurance intake worksheet and paperwork.
• Collaborate internally: Work closely with project managers and sales representatives to gather field data and clarify project scopes.
• Maintain Documentation: Update Acculynx’s software daily with claim statuses, emails, and phone logs.
• Assist with Triage and project planning: Collaborate with production and a sales managers, review complex jobs involving carpentry, structural or tree damage to insure accurate scopes and pricing

Financial Tracking

• Manages the dollars: Work with accounting and the insurance office administrator to track insurance and mortgage-company payments, depreciation and supplements through to collections.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience processing insurance claims, specifically with residential roofing or exterior construction.
• Software: Experience with construction CRM’s, AccuLynx’s preferred and HAAG certificate is a plus.
• Working knowledge insurance process: Carrier scopes, depreciation (ACV and RCV), supplements and the claim payment flow: Xactimate a strong plus.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of property insurance policies, deductibles, exterior remodelling, and construction materials.
• Know or be able to quickly learn best practices: Understanding of the contractor’s role in a claim, and the rules concerning contractor communication with carriers in Indiana, Illinois and Michigan is critical.
• Communication: Exceptional phone etiquette and negotiation skills to handle tough conversations with adjusters. Clear, steady communication with reps, homeowners, carriers, and production.
• Organization: Ability to manage 30+ active files simultaneously without losing track of touchpoints and deadlines.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
