Insurance Representative

Overview

Our client is seeking an Insurance Associate to support a high-volume project related to homeowners insurance policies in New York. This position will focus on reviewing policyholder documentation, updating policy records, assisting customers, and processing premium credits or refunds related to qualifying wind mitigation improvements.

Responsibilities

• Review policyholder documentation related to wind mitigation improvements and protective devices.
• Communicate with customers by phone to explain documentation requirements and answer policy-related questions.
• Update customer and policy information based on reviewed and validated documentation.
• Accurately enter, scan, organize, and maintain documents within electronic record management systems.
• Use Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, to calculate applicable premium credits or refunds.
• Submit completed refund or credit calculations for processing according to established procedures.
• Support outbound customer outreach regarding eligible New York homeowners insurance policies.
• Maintain accurate records while handling a high volume of policy updates and documentation.
• Assist with additional administrative and operational tasks as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

• Customer service or call center experience preferred.
• Insurance industry experience is a plus, but not required for an entry-level candidate.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review documents and enter information.
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and spreadsheet calculations.
• Strong verbal communication skills and confidence speaking with customers by phone.
• Ability to follow established processes and insurance procedures.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hartford, CT.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
