What they need
A day in this role
You start your morning by picking up a company vehicle and heading to a municipal complex to restore a PTZ camera feed into the VMS. After confirming the NVR is recording, you pull a fresh Cat6 run to eliminate a ground loop, test continuity with a meter and tone generator, and document the fix. Midday, you swing by a detention facility to replace a faulty door position switch and reconfigure an access control panel. Before wrapping up, you verify intercom and PA paging, check a nurse-call annunciator, and review the fire alarm control panel for alerts. Some weeks include scheduled overtime or on-call coverage to support urgent security and facility needs—work that directly helps keep public buildings safe.
