What they need
Integration Engineer
About HENDI
At HENDI, we develop smart, reliable and innovative tools for professionals in the hospitality industry. As an international supplier of kitchen and catering equipment, we operate across multiple European markets and are continuously developing the digital capabilities that support our business.
Our technology landscape is evolving rapidly. We are investing in platforms such as Workato, Snowflake, Power BI and HubSpot, while continuing to connect our ERP, WMS, e-commerce, product information and other business applications across the HENDI group.
As the number and importance of these connections grows, we are looking for an Integration Engineer to help us build, operate and further professionalize our integration landscape.
What the job is all about
As Integration Engineer, you make sure data and business processes can move reliably between our different applications and platforms.
You will work alongside a colleague already dedicated to integration development, supported by other technically experienced team members across HENDI. Together, you will develop new integrations, improve existing ones and establish a more mature and scalable approach to integration engineering across the group.
This is a hands-on role. You will spend much of your time designing, building, testing and troubleshooting integrations, primarily using Workato. You will also be in close contact to our business teams to understand their needs and design solid integrations and automations.
We expect you to join with solid integration engineering experience. We will help you understand HENDI, our business processes and our application landscape, but technically you should be able to get up to speed quickly and start contributing to our integration backlog.
What you will be doing
You will:
- Design, build and maintain integrations between systems such as ERP, WMS, CRM, PIM, e-commerce platforms, Snowflake and external services.
- Develop and maintain integrations and automations in Workato.
- Work with REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, SQL databases, files and other integration mechanisms.
- Translate business and application requirements into reliable technical integration solutions.
- Implement data mappings, transformations and validation logic.
- Build integrations with appropriate error handling, retry, replay and monitoring mechanisms.
- Investigate and resolve integration incidents and structural issues.
- Work closely with application owners, project teams and technical colleagues across different HENDI entities.
- Develop reusable integration components and patterns rather than solving the same problem multiple times.
- Improve documentation, naming conventions, logging, monitoring and deployment practices.
- Help establish clear development, testing and production standards for our integration landscape.
- Contribute to decisions about integration architecture and the appropriate technology or integration pattern for different use cases.
- Help continuously improve the reliability, maintainability and scalability of our integration environment.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced integration professional who can become productive quickly and who combines hands-on development skills with sound engineering practices.
You bring:
- Several years of hands-on experience developing system-to-system integrations.
- Practical experience with an enterprise integration platform or iPaaS such as Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Integration services or comparable technologies.
- Strong experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with authentication mechanisms, JSON and XML.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working directly with relational databases.
- Practical experience with data mapping, transformation and validation between different applications and data models.
- A solid understanding of integration patterns including synchronous and asynchronous processing, webhooks, batch processing, idempotency, retries and error handling.
- Experience running integrations in production, including monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving failures.
- Affinity with the possibilities of AI and Agentic software.
- The ability to independently take an integration from technical analysis through development, testing and production.
- An engineering mindset: you think about maintainability, reusability, observability and long-term reliability rather than simply making an interface work.
- The ability to quickly understand unfamiliar applications, APIs and data structures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues across different countries.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Experience with some of the following would be an advantage:
- ERP, WMS, CRM, PIM or e-commerce integrations.
- Snowflake or another modern cloud data platform.
- HubSpot or another modern CRM system.
- Event-driven and near-real-time integration patterns.
- Integration monitoring and observability.
- CI/CD and structured deployment practices for integration solutions.
How you will work
This is a group role. You will work with colleagues and systems across several HENDI entities rather than supporting one specific country or application.
Our integration capability already includes one colleague predominantly focused on Workato development, as well as other team members with integration experience who combine this with broader project and application responsibilities.
You will work closely with this team to increase our development capacity while also helping us move towards a more standardized, well-documented and professionally managed integration landscape.
You will have room to influence how we work. We are not looking for someone who only executes predefined technical specifications. We want an engineer who recognizes better ways of solving problems, challenges existing approaches where appropriate and helps us build an integration capability that can scale with HENDI's ambitions.
What we offer
- An international technology role with impact across the HENDI group.
- The opportunity to work on a rapidly developing application and data landscape.
- A combination of hands-on engineering and longer-term technical improvement.
- The opportunity to help shape our integration engineering standards and architecture.
- Collaboration with colleagues across multiple countries, systems and business domains.
- A practical environment in which good ideas can quickly become working solutions.
Ready to connect the dots? Apply and help us build the connected technology landscape behind HENDI’s next phase of growth.
