Integration Engineer

Position Overview

Academian is seeking an Integration Engineer to design, develop, implement, and maintain integrations between university systems. The role focuses on APIs, middleware platforms, system-to-system data exchange, troubleshooting integration issues, and ensuring reliable and secure data flow across applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain integrations between university applications and enterprise systems.
• Develop and support REST APIs and SOAP web services.
• Configure and maintain middleware and data integration solutions.
• Work with integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Azure Integration Services.
• Troubleshoot integration failures, data-transfer issues, and data discrepancies.
• Perform integration testing, validation, and error resolution.
• Coordinate with internal technical teams, third-party vendors, and application owners to resolve integration issues.
• Monitor integration processes and ensure data accuracy, consistency, reliability, and security.
• Maintain technical documentation, integration specifications, and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve integration processes and system interoperability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in API development, integration engineering, and system-to-system data exchange.
• Experience with the Ellucian Banner ERP Student Information System
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and SOAP web services.
• Experience with middleware and enterprise data integration technologies.
• Hands-on experience with MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, or similar platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with integration testing, data mapping, transformation, and validation.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors and cross-functional technical teams.
• Understanding of data security, access controls, and secure data transmission.
• Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
