What they need
About Nevium
Nevium Intellectual Property Consultants specializes in intellectual property valuation, economic analysis and expert testimony. The firm supports clients and legal teams in complex matters involving trademarks, copyrights, patents, brands, defamation and other intangible assets.
We are a small, collaborative team where employees have meaningful visibility into the business and the opportunity to make an impact.
The Opportunity
Nevium is seeking an experienced, proactive Intellectual Property Litigation Analyst to support expert engagements from first document review through final report and testimony.
This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly and thrives when the picture is incomplete and priorities can change quickly. You'll build financial and damages models, research the facts behind each matter and work directly with consultants, attorneys and clients rather than sitting in the background.
What You'll Do
- Analyze case materials, financial statements and market data for trademark, copyright, brand and defamation matters.
- Build financial and damages models, including lost profits and unjust enrichment analyses.
- Review and summarize license agreements and other case documents.
- Conduct legal, company, industry and online research, including review of social media and web data.
- Draft clear, evidence-based analyses and exhibits for expert reports, presentations and testimony.
- Be ready to walk the team through your models, inputs and assumptions in simple terms.
- Proactively follow up with attorneys and clients when documents are missing and deadlines are close.
- Keep organized workpapers and document your findings.
- Help improve methodologies, templates and internal processes.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of consulting experience.
- Strong finance foundation, including financial statements and what drives company performance.
- Strong quantitative skills and Excel proficiency, with attention to detail.
- Strong writing skills. Every Nevium deliverable is a written report.
- Ability to explain complex analysis clearly to colleagues, attorneys and clients.
- Sound judgment in selecting credible, defensible sources and assumptions.
- Proactive, curious approach with the ability to manage multiple projects and pivot quickly when circumstances change.
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work on-site in San Diego.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a related field.
- Litigation support or expert-witness experience.
- Experience or coursework in valuation, damages analysis or forensic accounting.
- Familiarity with intellectual property, licensing or royalty concepts.
- Experience working with incomplete information and changing case timelines.
- CFA, CPA, CLP or similar certification.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is curious, proactive, analytical and dependable . You should enjoy digging into the numbers, asking what they mean and finding the holes in an analysis before the other side does. Advanced statistics or SQL experience is not required.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Nevium's Little Italy office in San Diego . The role is designed around in-person collaboration with a small, specialized team. Nevium offers direct access to leadership, varied responsibilities and room to grow for someone who demonstrates initiative, curiosity and strong performance.
Compensation $90,000-$110,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Benefits
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
- 401(k) with match after one year
- Relocation assistance
Why Join Nevium?
At Nevium, you will not be several layers removed from the work or the people making decisions. You will take ownership early, work directly with attorneys and clients and see your analysis carry through to expert reports and testimony.
The work is varied. The environment is collaborative. Some days are predictable and others require the team to quickly pivot around a changing client, deposition, trial or reporting deadline.
If you are someone who takes ownership, notices the details others miss and enjoys turning incomplete information into a defensible analysis, we would like to hear from you.
