POSITION: Intensive Resource Room Support

LOCATION: Pine Avenue Elementary School

REPORTS TO: Dr. Kathy Konowalow, Building Principal

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree/Certification:

High School Diploma and meets Highly Qualified guidelines for Title I buildings – at least one of the following: Associates Degree or Certificate of Competency for ETS test.

Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will work within an Intensive Resource Room with high need students. They will work alongside certified staff to support student growth, contribute to a positive learning environment, and help the district achieve its goals.

MAJOR DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

· Provides one-on-one and small-group support for students with special needs in the IRR room.

· Assists with classroom management and helps with personal care and behavioral interventions.

· Supporting students with disabilities, 504 plans, or behavior intervention plans.

· Assisting with adaptive, physical, or medical needs in collaboration with other staff.

· Helping manage classroom routines and supporting a positive learning environment.

· Providing behavioral support, documentation, and crisis assistance as needed.

· Building strong relationships with students to better understand and meet their needs.

· Supporting inclusive practices that ensure all students have access to learning.

· Help redirect problem behaviors and de-escalate situations.

· Applying individual skills, training, and past experiences to best support students and staff.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. (1/2-hour unpaid lunch)

COMPENSATION:

Starting wage - $17.85/hr.
