Interface Engineer

Job Scope:

The Interface Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating technical, construction and physical interfaces between Pekat E&LP works, main contractor and others project stakeholders/trades, ensuring that interfaces are identified, coordinated and resolved before they affect construction, programme, physical works and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and control all interface matters between Pekat E&LP activities and other construction disciplines, including maintaining an updated Interface Register.
• Examine IFC drawings, shop drawings, and technical documents to detect clashes, inconsistencies, and potential constructability issues.
• Prepare, coordinate, and monitor TQ/RFI submissions until all technical matters are resolved and closed.
• Liaise with structural, civil, architectural, M&E, MV, roofing, façade, and specialist contractors to ensure proper integration of E&LP works.
• Verify workfront readiness by checking access, approved drawings, material availability, preceding works, and other required conditions.
• Monitor site constraints and escalate unresolved coordination issues that may impact project schedule, cost, or execution.
• Participate in coordination meetings, highlight outstanding interface issues, and ensure agreed actions are followed through.
• Review changes resulting from drawing revisions, site conditions, instructions, and requirements from other trades.
• Inform the Project Management and Commercial teams of any interface-related matters that may lead to Variation Order (VO) or Extension of Time (EOT) claims.

Qualification Required:

Education : Bachelor degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.

Experience : At least 5–8 years relevant experience, preferably in Data Centre, M&E, electrical or E&LP projects.

Skills Required:

• Technical coordination and interface management for large construction projects.
• Ability to read and understand IFC, shop drawings and E&LP drawings.
• Understanding of TQ/RFI, design change and coordination processes.
• Knowledge of earthing and lightning protection works and their interfaces with other trades.
• Basic commercial awareness of interface-related VO, EOT and delay records.
