Interim FP&A Lead | PE Exit Readiness

We are looking for an experienced interim finance professional to support a PE-backed business through exit readiness. The role will take hands-on ownership of FDD requests, financial data and analysis, forecasting and modelling, and support Q&A with the PE owner and advisers.

With the CFO increasingly focused on the transaction process, including buyer discussions, banking relationships and due diligence, they need a senior commercial finance professional who can hit the ground running, operate autonomously and take ownership of key financial analysis and FDD requirements throughout the process.

This is not a technically focused accounting role. The emphasis is on commercial insight, forecasting, modelling, investor-level reporting and transaction readiness.

Working closely with the CFO, you will:

• Take ownership of FDD requests, understanding what information is required, sourcing the appropriate data and producing robust analysis and responses
• Support the CFO as the business progresses through exit readiness and a potential sale process
• Work with internal stakeholders and external advisers to ensure financial information is readily available and able to withstand scrutiny throughout diligence
• Develop and interrogate KPIs, providing clear insight into the key drivers of business performance
• Lead forecasting, scenario planning and financial modelling
• Identify and quantify key risks and opportunities, modelling their potential impact on future performance
• Analyse commercial drivers including subscription revenue and utilisation
• Determine what data is required to answer commercial and transaction-related questions, proactively sourcing and interrogating information from across the business
• Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, meaningful insight for the CFO, senior leadership and PE investors
• Operate independently and take significant workload away from the CFO while they focus on buyers, banks and the wider transaction process

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong experience operating within a PE-backed environment
• A senior commercial finance or FP&A background
• Excellent financial modelling, forecasting and scenario-planning capability
• Strong experience using KPIs to understand, challenge and communicate business performance
• The ability to independently identify and articulate risks, opportunities and commercial trends
• Confidence operating with PE investors, senior leadership and other demanding stakeholders
• Strong analytical capability and the judgement to understand what data is required, where to find it and how to interrogate it
• The ability to operate autonomously and hit the ground running

Previous experience supporting a PE-backed exit, sale or transaction, including responding to and owning FDD requests, would be highly advantageous.

Experience working with or understanding subscription-based revenue models and utilisation would also be particularly relevant.

Previous experience with DataRails would be a significant advantage.

This is an opportunity to work closely with a CFO during a significant period for a PE-backed business, with genuine exposure to an evolving exit process.

It would particularly suit someone who has operated in a fast-paced PE environment and enjoys getting underneath business performance, interrogating data and modelling different outcomes, while having the confidence and commercial judgement to turn that analysis into meaningful insight for senior stakeholders and investors.
