We are partnering with a complex, multinational, PE-backed business seeking an experienced Interim Head of FP&A to take ownership of group-wide planning, forecasting and reporting.

This is a high-impact appointment within an ambitious growth environment, requiring someone who can quickly establish control over the FP&A function, deliver high-quality financial insight and meet demanding reporting requirements from the CFO, Board, PE shareholder and lenders.

The role will lead the group's planning and performance management cadence, alongside managing and developing a Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner. There is potential for the assignment to convert to a permanent position for the right individual.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, long-range planning and scenario analysis across a complex multinational group.
• Deliver timely, insightful financial reporting and analysis to the CFO, executive team, Board and PE shareholder.
• Oversee the monthly management accounts process, ensuring accurate, commercially focused reporting is delivered to deadline in partnership with the accounting team.
• Own bank reporting, ensuring clear alignment between actual performance, forecasts, cash flow and lender requirements.
• Establish consistent group-wide KPIs, reporting templates and performance metrics across multiple countries and entities.
• Translate financial results into clear actions, risks and opportunities, providing meaningful insight beyond standard variance analysis.
• Lead and develop the Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner, directing analytical resource towards key commercial priorities.
• Improve financial models, reporting processes, data quality and management information while maintaining effective day-to-day delivery.

Candidate requirements

• Proven FP&A leadership experience within a PE-backed, leveraged, multinational or similarly complex business.
• Strong experience owning budgeting, forecasting and longer-term planning across multi-entity environments.
• Excellent understanding of integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting, with experience of bank and lender reporting.
• Demonstrable experience producing reporting for senior leadership, Boards, PE shareholders and other external stakeholders.
• Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to challenge assumptions and translate financial analysis into actionable recommendations.
• Experience leading or developing commercial finance and business-partnering teams.
• A hands-on, improvement-focused approach, with the ability to establish structure and deliver results quickly in imperfect systems or data environments.
• Qualified accountant preferred; international and multinational group experience highly desirable.
