About Our Client
Our client is an ASX-listed financial services business, undergoing a significant technology transformation and business acquisition. They are seeking an Interim Head of Technology for a period of 6 months, based in Brisbane with frequent travel required.
 
The Role
 
The Interim Head of Technology will lead the client's technology function through a critical transformation period, taking responsibility for infrastructure, security, vendor management, and data and analytics, as well as a business acquisition. This is a hands-on interim assignment, suited to an autonomous operator who can lead the team and the business through a period of change. 
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the asset strategy, including the retirement and replacement of legacy infrastructure ahead of its end of life.
• Own vendor management and contract renewal processes, including vendor consolidation to achieve cost savings and efficiencies.
• Partner with the business to help define the future state technology roadmap.
• Oversee infrastructure, security, and data and analytics, with a focus on AI initiatives and efficiencies.
• Assess the technology stack of the pending acquisition and lead the integration plan for its systems and infrastructure.
• Advise the executive team on the technology risks, dependencies and cost implications of the acquisition.
• Lead, drive and mentor the team, maintaining day-to-day IT operations while driving data and analytics initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team on technology strategy during a period of significant business change.

What You’ll Bring
You must have proven technology leadership experience, ideally as a CIO, CTO or Head of Technology/IT within a small-to-mid-cap organisation. Experience in financial services industry is essential, with an understanding of data-rich, regulated industries.

• Background in a Microsoft-centric, hands-on technology environment.
• Experience managing vendor and asset strategies, including telecommunications and infrastructure consolidation.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, including assessing and integrating technology stacks following an acquisition, is essential.
• An autonomous operator, confident advising the executive team through a period of business transformation.

This is an interim assignment based in Brisbane. To be eligible, you must be based in Brisbane with full Australian work rights without restrictions for the duration of the contract.
