What they need
About the role
We are looking for an Interior Designer to support our client's design team in developing design concepts, space planning, presentations, and technical drawings across a portfolio of commercial office and corporate workplace projects. This role provides operational support to the client's core Singapore / international team. You will help translate client requirements, business needs, and brand identity into compelling workplace environments, balancing functionality, aesthetics, employee experience, and practical commercial requirements — while ensuring design accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Develop commercial office and workplace interior design concepts based on client briefs, operational requirements, and brand identity.
- Develop test-fit layouts and space plans based on precise client requirements, including workstation configurations, circulation, meeting rooms, collaboration areas, reception spaces, breakout areas, and other workplace facilities.
- Prepare detailed construction and technical drawings for the execution of commercial office and workplace fit-out projects.
- Produce colour, material, furniture, and finishes plans that clearly communicate the design concept, with consideration for durability, functionality, maintenance, and suitability for commercial workplace environments.
- Prepare engaging design presentations, mood boards, material boards, and comprehensive proposals for client review.
- Prepare accurate drawings and documentation for contractor quotations and project execution.
- Revise drawings, layouts, and designs promptly based on project requirements and client feedback.
- Coordinate closely with the design team and project stakeholders — including architects, MEP consultants, FF&E teams, and contractors — to ensure drawings and design documentation are accurate and consistent.
- Support projects from concept development through design development and fit-out documentation, ensuring all assigned deliverables are completed within the required timeline and expected quality standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Interior Design.
- Commercial Office Experience: Proven professional experience as an Interior Designer or Draftsperson with a strong focus on commercial office, corporate workplace, and office fit-out projects.
- Portfolio Requirement (Mandatory): A portfolio demonstrating commercial office interior design projects is required. We will not be able to move forward with candidates whose portfolios are not focused on commercial office projects. Portfolios primarily featuring residential, hospitality, retail, or other non-office projects will not be considered.
- Workplace Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of office space planning, workplace design principles, commercial fit-out requirements, materials, and detailing.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to produce accurate technical drawings and translate design concepts into practical and buildable solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with a Singapore-based / international design team, coordinate with project stakeholders, and interpret client feedback.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, highly organised, and able to work independently while managing multiple design deliverables within project deadlines.
Technical Proficiency
- Core Design Software: AutoCAD (technical drawings, test-fits, construction documentation) and SketchUp (3D modelling and design visualisation).
- Presentation Tools (preferred): Adobe Photoshop and PowerPoint for presentations, mood boards, and material boards.
