Position: Interior Design (ID) Inspector

DHM is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Interior Design (ID) Inspector to join our construction supervision team in Dubai. In this role, you will represent the Engineer (AP) on-site, strictly monitoring and inspecting all premium interior design and fit-out works executed by the Contractor (AFGC).Your primary mission is to enforce the highest standards of quality control, ensuring every finish perfectly matches approved shop drawings, specifications, material submittals, and mock-ups.

Please note: This is a site-based quality control and enforcement role. The ID Inspector does not have the authority to approve design changes, variations, or deviations unless authorized in writing by the Engineer.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

Inspections & Supervision: Conduct daily visual and physical inspections of ongoing ID works, including premium marble/stone installations, high-end timber/veneer joinery, wall claddings, feature walls, doors/ironmongery, false ceilings, glass, mirrors, and specialized decorative paint finishes.

Material & Mock-Up Verification: Match all delivered site materials against approved submittals (checking brand, color, finish, texture, and thickness). Inspect and establish quality benchmarks using site mock-ups.

WIR Management: Swiftly review, pre-inspect, and process the Contractor’s Work Inspection Requests (WIR/IR), logging accurate statuses (Approved, Approved as Noted, Rejected).

Defect Control: Identify defective or non-compliant installations. Issue Site Observation Reports (SOR) or Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and follow up through complete rectification.

Cross-Discipline Coordination: Actively check cross-discipline layouts (Architectural, Structural, MEP, ELV, and FF&E) to detect and resolve physical or visual clashes (e.g., lighting, HVAC grilles, or switches disrupting ID panels) before finishes are closed up.

Reporting & Aconex: Document site progress using daily photographic logs. Manage workflows, records, and inspection statuses electronically through Aconex.

What We Are Looking For (Job Requirements)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a strictly related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience as an ID Inspector, Site Architect, or Fit-out QA/QC Inspector. Direct experience on luxury hospitality, high-end residential, or premium commercial projects in Dubai/UAE is highly preferred.

System Proficiency: Hands-on, working experience utilizing Aconex on active construction projects for document control and tracking.

Mobility: A valid UAE Driving License is mandatory. You must be comfortable traveling independently to site zones or supplier workshops.

Skills: An exceptional eye for luxury finish tolerances, deep knowledge of interior material interfaces, and strong communication skills to handle contractor interactions firmly and professionally.
