Role Description The Interior Design Intern will support the design team in developing residential and commercial interior concepts, layouts, and mood boards. This full-time, on-site role based in Trivandrum involves assisting with space planning, furniture and material selection, and FF&E documentation under the guidance of senior designers. The intern will help prepare drawings, presentations, and 3D visualizations, as well as coordinate with vendors and project teams to ensure design intent is maintained. Daily tasks include organizing project files, supporting site visits and measurements, and contributing creative ideas that align with client requirements and BuildArt’s design standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Interior Design and Space Planning to support layout development and concept creation.
• Candidates should possess skills related to Furniture and FF&E (fixtures, fittings, and equipment) for selection, specification, and documentation.
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for collaborating with team members, vendors, and clients.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Basic proficiency in design and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and presentation software.
• Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to work on-site in Trivandrum on a full-time schedule.
• Interest in sustainable design, modern residential interiors, and local materials and practices is an advantage.
