What they need
Goldstar Construction & Developers is seeking a highly organized, creative, and motivated Interior Designer & Project Coordinator to join our growing residential construction and remodeling company.
This is a unique position combining interior design, 3D rendering, material selections, project coordination, and administrative support.
A major focus of this role will be designing Bathrooms, Kitchens and Residential Interiors, creating professional renderings that allow clients to visualize their finished space before construction begins.
The ideal candidate is creative but also extremely organized. We are looking for someone who can take measurements, photos, inspiration images, and project information and turn them into well-planned designs, material selections, and realistic client presentations.
This position will work directly with the company owner from a professional home-based office on Long Island and will also assist with day-to-day project coordination and administrative responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create Bathroom, Kitchens and Residential interior designs
- Develop floor plans, elevations, layouts, and design concepts
- Produce professional 3D renderings and realistic interior visualizations
- Design bathroom layouts including vanities, showers, tubs, niches, fixtures, lighting, tile layouts, and accessories
- Assist with kitchen and other residential interior design projects as needed
- Prepare client design presentations and material-selection packages
- Research and source tile, vanities, plumbing fixtures, lighting, flooring, cabinetry, hardware, paint colors, and other finishes
- Create material and finish schedules for construction projects
- Maintain organized digital project files, drawings, selections, photos, and specifications
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding products, pricing, lead times, and availability
- Assist with ordering and tracking project materials
- Coordinate project information between the owner, clients, vendors, and field teams
- Assist with preparing scopes of work, proposals, project documents, and change orders
- Perform general administrative and office support
- Maintain project schedules, task lists, and follow-ups
- Help improve company organization and project-management systems
Design & Software Skills
Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following:
- SketchUp
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Chief Architect
- 2020 Design
- D5 Render
- Twinmotion
- V-Ray
- Enscape
- Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator
- Canva or similar presentation software
Experience creating photorealistic bathroom and residential interior renderings is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- Degree, certificate, or relevant experience in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field
- Strong understanding of residential interior design
- Excellent sense of space planning, color, materials, and finishes
- Ability to create accurate and visually impressive 3D renderings
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable communicating professionally with clients, contractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Able to work independently and take ownership of assignments
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and willing to learn
- Comfortable working from a professional home-based office environment
Ideal Candidate
We are especially interested in someone who combines creativity with organization.
You may be a recent interior design or architecture graduate with strong technical skills looking for an opportunity to gain real-world construction experience, or an experienced designer looking for a position where you can become an important part of a growing company.
This is not strictly a desk-based design position. You will learn how designs move from concept and rendering into actual construction. You will work closely with the owner, contractors, vendors, and clients and gain hands-on exposure to residential remodeling and construction projects.
There is significant opportunity for the right person to grow with the company and take on greater responsibility over time.
Portfolio Required
Applicants should submit a portfolio or examples of previous work demonstrating:
- Bathroom designs
- Interior renderings
- Floor plans or elevations
- 3D modeling
- Material/finish selections
- Residential design projects
Student and academic portfolios are welcome for qualified entry-level candidates.
