About the role

We are seeking a talented and creative Interior Designer at AS IDEAS INTERIOR SDN. BHD.. This is a full-time position based in Alor Setar, Kedah. As an Interior Designer, you will play a crucial role in transforming spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments that meet our clients' vision and requirements. You will be responsible for conceptualising, designing, and overseeing the implementation of interior design projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional results that reflect our commitment to quality and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client consultations to understand project requirements, budget constraints, and design preferences
• Develop creative interior design concepts and proposals, including mood boards, colour schemes, and material selections
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using design software and CAD tools
• Create 3D visualisations and renderings to present design concepts to clients and stakeholders
• Select and source appropriate furniture, fixtures, finishes, and decorative elements within budget parameters
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and tradespeople to oversee project implementation and quality control
• Visit project sites regularly to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure design specifications are being followed
• Maintain detailed project documentation and records throughout the design and execution phases
• Stay updated with current design trends, materials, and industry best practices

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from a recognised institution
• Proven experience as an Interior Designer with a portfolio demonstrating successful completed projects
• Proficiency in interior design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, or Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong knowledge of interior design principles, colour theory, spatial planning, and material selection
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas effectively to clients and teams
• Strong project management abilities with experience managing budgets, timelines, and multiple projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to client feedback and design changes
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and sustainable design practices is advantageous
