Interior Designer

Are you an Interior Designer looking for a place you’ll genuinely love working? Lovely people. A great studio environment. Beautiful design. Real projects. Real ownership.

Bearspace is a growing Brisbane interior design studio, and we’re looking for an Interior Designer or Senior Interior Designer to join the team.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to do great design work, broaden their project and client exposure and continue building their career.

You may already be operating at Senior level, or you may be an experienced Interior Designer ready to take on greater project ownership and responsibility.

About Bearspace Bearspace is a people-first interior design studio focused on creating thoughtful spaces where creativity, functionality and human connection come together.

The team is small, collaborative and design-led, with a strong focus on doing great work and enjoying the process along the way.

You’ll work across a diverse range of projects and have exposure across the project lifecycle, from early concept and design development through documentation, construction and delivery.

The Role You’ll work across a range of interior design projects and take genuine ownership of your work.

Depending On Your Experience, You’ll Be Involved In

• Concept development, design direction and spatial planning
• Working across projects from early concept through to delivery
• Preparing presentations, finishes and design documentation
• Revit modelling, drawings and documentation packages
• Working directly with clients and project stakeholders
• Coordinating consultants, suppliers and builders
• Attending client meetings, presentations and site visits
• Solving design and technical challenges
• Taking ownership of project delivery
• Managing multiple projects and priorities
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced designers
• Contributing to design reviews and broader studio discussions

At Senior level, there is greater opportunity to lead projects, manage client relationships, mentor others and become increasingly involved in the broader direction of the studio. Bearspace’s Senior Interior Designer framework specifically includes design leadership, end-to-end project delivery, client engagement and mentoring.

About You You’ll likely already have experience working within an interior design or interior architecture practice and be looking for an opportunity where you can keep developing.

You’ll Bring

• Strong interior design and visual communication skills
• A great design eye and attention to detail
• Revit capability
• Adobe Creative Suite skills
• Experience across design development and documentation
• An understanding of project delivery and construction
• Confidence working with clients and project teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
• A genuine interest in continuing to learn and develop

For more experienced applicants, we’ll be looking for stronger capability across project leadership, client management, consultant coordination and mentoring. The Senior Interior Designer PD sets the senior benchmark at 6+ years' experience, with advanced Revit capability and strong project delivery and client skills.

Why Bearspace

• Beautiful, thoughtfully considered projects
• Real project ownership
• Exposure across the full project lifecycle
