What they need

CCY is looking for a talented and passionate Interior Designer with 4-6 years of experience to join our collaborative studio in the Rocky Mountains!

An Interior Designer at CCY works hand in hand with our architecture and interiors teams to create spaces that are thoughtfully detailed, materially rich, and rooted in place. Working closely with the Interiors Studio Director and Project Managers, the Interior Designer contributes across all project phases, from concept and material exploration through construction documentation and construction administration, on a range of project types including custom residences, experiential hospitality, and community projects.

In this position the Interior Designer takes direct ownership of portions of the interiors scope, with the competence to assume responsibility for accuracy and quality of work. The role calls for a strong design sensibility balanced with technical knowledge of detailing, finishes, and FF&E, along with the ability to produce compelling presentation materials that clearly communicate design intent. The candidate should be comfortable coordinating with the project team, consultants, vendors, and contractors, and will support client meetings and presentations alongside project leadership. The role offers opportunities to grow in design leadership, client engagement, and mentorship of junior staff.

CCY does not offer remote positions. The position requires candidates collaborate and be present in our design studio in Basalt, Colorado. Team members may work from home one day per week, with the expectation of being physically present in the office during regular business hours the remaining four days.

Responsibilities include, among others:

    • Develop interior design concepts, space planning, and design studies in collaboration with the Interiors Studio Director and project teams
    • Lead the development of finish material palettes, sample boards, and presentation materials for internal reviews and client meetings
    • Produce interior construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, millwork and custom details, and finish schedules
    • Assist in managing FF&E selections, specifications, budgets, and procurement documentation in coordination with project leadership
    • Create renderings, visualizations, and graphics that clearly communicate design intent
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, lighting designers, fabricators, vendors, and contractors to resolve design and technical issues
    • Construction phase responsibilities, including review of interiors submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs, as well as site visits to confirm adherence to design intent
    • Conduct material and product research with attention to durability, maintenance, lead times, cost, and material health
    • Support project sustainability and wellness goals through healthy, low-impact material selection and related documentation
    • Maintain the materials library and keep vendor and product resources current.
    • Quality assurance for self-performed work, and support of junior staff in documentation and design graphics

Salary Range:

$80-95K

Compensation + Benefits:

CCY Architects offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Health Insurance: Paid 100% of premium.

  • Vision and Dental Insurance: Paid at 65% of premium.

  • 401(k) Retirement Plan

  • Paid Vacation and Sick Leave

  • Short-Term Disability Insurance

  • Wellness and Athletic Reimbursement

Requirements:

  • A CIDA-accredited degree in Interior Design and/or a professional degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program
  • 4-6 years of applied professional work experience at an architecture or interior design firm
  • An understanding of how to assemble a full set of interior construction documents
  • Demonstrated experience in interior detailing, including millwork and custom elements
  • Working knowledge of FF&E, architectural and interior finishes, construction methodology, and material applications
  • Exceptionally strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Exemplary organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • REVIT proficiency is required
  • Fluent in Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite, and both hand and digital sketching and rendering techniques
  • Experience with real-time rendering tools (such as Lumion, Enscape or Twinmotion) is a plus
  • NCIDQ certification, or progress toward it, is a plus
  • Creative curiosity and the ability to work in a collaborative, fun, fast-paced environment
