Interior Designer cum Project Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a creative, technically competent and detail-oriented Interior Designer cum Project Coordinator to join our project team. The successful candidate should possess strong design flair together with the technical ability to translate concepts and site requirements into accurate, practical and buildable shop drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts, space planning and design proposals.
• Prepare detailed AutoCAD shop drawings, construction drawings, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans and carpentry details.
• Produce professional 3D perspectives, renderings and presentation materials for client presentations.
• Conduct site surveys and take accurate site measurements.
• Translate design concepts and actual site conditions into practical construction details.
• Prepare material, colour and finishes selections and schedules.
• Coordinate drawings and design requirements with Project Managers, site teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Attend client presentations, site meetings and project coordination meetings where required.
• Communicate professionally and tactfully with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Follow up on material samples, quotations, shop drawings, procurement and delivery requirements.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or related discipline.
• Preferably 2–5 years of relevant working experience in commercial interior design, renovation or fit-out projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with demonstrated ability to produce detailed and accurate shop drawings.
• Proficient in SketchUp, 3D Studio Max and/or other relevant 3D visualisation software.
• Good understanding of interior construction methods, materials, finishes and detailing.
• Able to conduct site measurements independently and translate actual site conditions into drawings.
• Possess good design flair with a strong eye for proportion, materials, colours and detailing.
• Strong attention to detail and able to identify drawing or site discrepancies.
• Fluent in spoken and written English, with the confidence to communicate and present ideas clearly.
• Able to deal professionally and tactfully with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
