Interior designer/ Drafter (Construction)

About the role

Produce interior fit-out CAD/Revit drawings, 3D Max, and SketchUp models. Review and interpret drawings and specifications provided by architects and design consultants. Work closely with project managers to prepare and maintain shop drawing lists and submission schedules. Generate architectural, structural, and shop drawings for client approvals, construction, and as-built records.

Key responsibilities

• Produce interior fit-out CAD/Revit drawings, 3D Max, and SketchUp models.
• Review and interpret drawings and specifications provided by architects and design consultants.
• Work closely with project managers to prepare and maintain shop drawing lists and submission schedules.
• Generate architectural, structural, and shop drawings for client approvals, construction, and as-built records.
• Conduct site surveys and measurements to verify design details and ensure accuracy in execution.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of project drawings, approvals, and site progress.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Identify and resolve issues related to design, materials, or site constraints in collaboration with the project team.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.

About you

• Minimum Diploma in Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in CAD drafting within the interior fit-out, commercial, or exhibition industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3D Max, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing, particularly in interior fit-out and carpentry.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills to coordinate with different project stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and vendors.
• Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.
