Interior Designer (ID)

Arkitek XY Sdn. Bhd., a distinguished architect firm in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, is seeking a dedicated and talented Interior Designer to join our creative team. The successful candidate will contribute to exciting, innovative, and diverse interior design projects, working in a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Development:
  Collaborate with senior interior designers to conceptualize and refine interior spaces, ensuring innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing design solutions.
• Project Documentation:
  Prepare detailed interior design drawings, specifications, and material boards using industry-standard software, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client expectations.
• Site Visits:
  Conduct site inspections to assess progress, collect relevant data, and ensure proper implementation of interior design concepts and finishes.
• Team Collaboration:
  Work closely with architects, contractors, and suppliers to deliver cohesive interior solutions and maintain design integrity throughout project execution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an interior design firm or relevant experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and rendering software such as Lumion or V-Ray; knowledge of Revit is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of interior detailing, finishes, furniture layouts, and materials.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and sustainable interior design practices.
• Excellent design sensibility, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits.
