What they need

Interior Designer (Intermediate or Senior)

Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per year
Work location: In person

Exceptional projects. Creative ownership. A team to grow with.

At ARTium Design Build & Just Basements (JBA), we create thoughtfully designed, beautifully executed renovations for high-end clients. As a luxury design + build firm, we take on substantial projects with significant budgets, giving our designers the opportunity to create exceptional spaces with quality materials, refined details, and a cohesive vision.

We’re looking for a Senior Interior Designer who brings a strong design eye, polish, and the confidence to guide discerning clients through important decisions. You know how to develop a compelling concept, communicate it clearly, and carry it through to the details that make a finished home feel exceptional.

You’ll join a fun, energetic, and growing team where design and construction work closely together. You’ll lead your own projects, see your ideas built, and have a voice in shaping our design department.

The Opportunity

This role combines creative design, client relationships, and project leadership. You’ll work directly with homeowners to understand their lifestyle, establish a clear design direction, and guide them through layouts, materials, finishes, and fixtures.

Our clients expect thoughtful recommendations, excellent communication, and a well-managed experience. You’ll bring warmth, professionalism, and sound judgment to every interaction, helping them feel confident in both the design and the process.

Alongside your project work, you’ll mentor junior designers and contribute ideas that strengthen our team, our systems, and the quality of our work.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead high-end residential renovation designs from initial concepts through detailed drawings, selections, and construction support.
  • Develop cohesive design concepts that reflect each client’s lifestyle, preferences, and investment.
  • Present your ideas with confidence, explaining the thinking behind layouts, materials, and design decisions.
  • Guide clients through selections with thoughtful recommendations and clear documentation.
  • Create plans, elevations, renderings, and construction-ready design packages.
  • Collaborate with sales, estimating, and construction to align design intent with budgets, schedules, and buildability.
  • Maintain organized project information and provide clear handoffs to our construction team.
  • Support design decisions during construction, helping ensure the finished result reflects the approved vision.
  • Mentor junior designers and help improve our design processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • A degree or diploma in interior design.
  • At least 5 years of residential renovation or construction-based design experience, ideally including high-end projects.
  • A strong residential portfolio demonstrating a refined design eye, thoughtful space planning, and attention to detail.
  • A professional presence and the ability to build trust with discerning clients.
  • Confidence presenting concepts, making recommendations, and navigating feedback with tact.
  • An understanding of how drawings, specifications, and selections translate into a well-executed renovation.
  • Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple projects without losing sight of the details.
  • Comfort using design and drawing software, with openness to learning new tools. Chief Architect experience is a plus, and familiarity with Buildertrend is helpful, but neither is required.
  • A collaborative attitude, initiative, and enthusiasm for helping a growing team get even better.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Why Join JBA?

  • Work on substantial residential projects with the budgets and scope to support exceptional design.
  • Take ownership of your projects and see your designs become finished spaces.
  • Join a fun, energetic team that takes pride in its work and values collaboration.
  • Work closely with construction professionals who help bring your design vision to life.
  • Have a voice in shaping our design department as we grow.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary of $70,000 to $80,000.
  • Wellness benefit.
  • Company events.
  • Mileage reimbursement.
  • On-site parking.

Apply with your resume and residential design portfolio. Include a brief note about a project you’re proud of, your role in bringing it to life, and what made the design successful.
