Interior Designer/ Showroom Associate

Lenox Hill Interiors is seeking a talented and personable Interior Designer / Showroom Associate to join our team in Carmel-by-the-Sea. This is a unique hybrid position for someone with a passion for interior design who also enjoys working directly with clients in a luxury showroom environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong design eye, excellent communication skills, and the ability to move seamlessly between assisting clients on the showroom floor and contributing to active interior design projects.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist clients visiting the Lenox Hill Interiors showroom, providing knowledgeable and attentive service.
• Help clients select furniture, lighting, accessories, finishes, and other design elements appropriate for their spaces.
• Develop relationships with showroom clients and identify opportunities for larger interior design projects.
• Work on active residential interior design projects during periods when showroom assistance is not required.
• Assist with space planning, furniture layouts, material and finish selections, sourcing, presentations, and specifications.
• Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes, and accessories from our collection of domestic and international vendors.
• Prepare client presentations, proposals, product selections, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, architects, and other members of the project team as needed.
• Maintain a polished and organized showroom and ensure products are presented to Lenox Hill Interiors' standards.
• Develop a strong understanding of the brands and products represented in the showroom.
• Assist with receiving, merchandising, and other showroom operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Education or professional experience in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
• Strong sense of design, proportion, materials, color, and furnishings.
• Experience with residential interior design preferred.
• Comfortable working directly with clients in both a design and retail environment.
• Professional, personable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience with interior design software, CAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar programs is a plus.
• Familiarity with luxury furniture, lighting, and European design brands is a plus.
• Retail or showroom experience is helpful but not required for the right design candidate.

Schedule

This is a full-time, in-person position based at our Carmel-by-the-Sea showroom. Because our showroom is open seven days a week, weekend availability is required and weekend shifts may be part of the regular schedule.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
