Interior Designer – Technical Documentation (AU/US/UK Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer with strong technical documentation skills and experience working on Australian, US, UK or international interior design projects.

You will translate design concepts into accurate, practical, and buildable documentation while supporting design coordination, revisions, specifications, and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed interior design drawings and technical documentation.
• Translate design concepts into accurate and buildable drawing packages.
• Develop and update documentation based on project requirements and revisions.
• Prepare and maintain material, finish, fixture, and specification information.
• Coordinate design information with project stakeholders.
• Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Maintain organised documentation and revision records.
• Ensure documentation meets applicable project and construction requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in interior design and technical documentation.
• Experience working on Australian, US, UK or international projects.
• Strong ability to translate design intent into accurate, buildable documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Strong technical drawing skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage revisions and multiple documentation requirements independently.

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu.
• Experience working with Australian clients or within an Australian design/construction environment.
• Experience with recognised international interior design studios or similar practices.
• Background in hospitality, commercial, residential, or high-end interior projects.

You are a detail-oriented and technically capable Interior Designer who understands how design concepts are developed into documentation suitable for project delivery and construction. You can work independently, manage revisions accurately, and maintain high documentation standards.
