Interior Estimator

About the Role

PT OTA Indonesia (Otazen), a growing independent global-scale furniture manufacturing company, is opening an opportunity for an analytical professional to join as Interior Estimator in our BOM & Costing team under the Technical Department. As Interior Estimator, you will prepare accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for interior fit-out and custom furniture projects, from tender drawings to final quotation, so that Otazen can price competitively while protecting project margins.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-off from architectural, interior, and tender drawings for interior fit-out works (partitions, ceiling, flooring, joinery, wall finishes, custom furniture, etc.)
• Prepare BOQ and cost estimates covering materials, hardware, accessories, finishing, labor, production overhead, and installation, according to client requests, target prices, and deadlines
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and keep the material and unit price database up to date
• Prepare quotations and tender documents, including scope clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions
• Review drawings and specifications to identify missing information, risks, and scope gaps, and raise clarifications early
• Propose value engineering alternatives (material, construction method, or specification) to meet target prices without reducing quality
• Coordinate with the Technical Engineer, Drafter, and Costing team to ensure estimates match engineering drawings and production capability
• Coordinate with Marketing, Project, and Purchasing teams on project scope, pricing, and material availability
• Support the handover of approved estimates to the project team as the cost baseline, and support variation order pricing when scope changes
• Prepare estimate summaries and daily reports for the TE Manager

Requirements

• Minimum D3/S1 in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience as an estimator or quantity surveyor, preferably in interior fit-out, furniture manufacturing, or construction
• Able to read architectural, interior, and shop drawings and perform accurate quantity take-off
• Solid understanding of interior fit-out materials, furniture construction, hardware, and finishing, along with their market prices
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookup functions, data management); AutoCAD or take-off software is a plus; familiarity with Odoo is an added value
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including in English
• Able to work under tight tender deadlines and handle multiple estimates at once
• Able to coordinate across Technical, Purchasing, Marketing, and Project teams
