Interlocal Teacher's Assistant 1

Responsible for afternoon care, center activities and of children enrolled in Choctaw Nation Head Start while following all Head Start, Tribal, State and Federal regulations.

Requirements (Education, Experience):

• High School Diploma or GED
• Satisfactory pass any pre-employment or other testing as required by the Interlocal Co-op, Head Start or Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor the safety of the children
• Adhere to DHS licensing regulations, tribal regulations and other state and federal regulations pertaining to child care
• Make sound decisions in emergency situations based on program procedures and regulations in the absence of supervisory personnel
• Maintain Child/Staff ratio at all times
• Interact with children consistently, positively and appropriately during playground and classroom activities
• Cleaning duties according to need and schedule set by supervisor
• Assist teaching staff with preparation of activities
• Participate in required trainings and tribal functions as need
• Assist in classroom set-up for the next week
• Act as Bus Monitor/Driver as needed
• Other duties as may be assigned

Physical Demands:

• Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
