Intermediate Accountant

The role
 
You'll be joining a friendly and down to earth team with a flat structure, supportive leadership and a steady workload. This is not a high pressure corporate environment, and you'll be trusted to manage your own work while having plenty of support around you when needed.
 
This role is full time in their new CBD based office (Sorry no hybrid options available). It's a great fit for someone who enjoys having independence but still values being part of a close knit team. You'll ideally have 2 - 4 years' experience within a public practice accounting firm and be comfortable managing your own client work, while continuing to build your technical knowledge and confidence.

The successful candidate will have!

• Have 2 - 4 years' experience in a public practice accounting firm is a must
• A solid understanding of NZ accounting and tax requirements
• Experience with Xero, MYOB and IRD
• Be confident communicating with clients, organised and detail focused
• Have a friendly, approachable personality and enjoy being part of a smaller team

Key responsibilities
 
This is a very hands on role, suited to someone who enjoys working independently, getting stuck into a variety of tasks, and providing support to management when needed. You'll be:

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns
• Preparing GST, FBT and Rental tax returns
• Managing day to day client accounting requirements
• Maintaining client tax compliance with IRD
• Assisting with a variety of client queries and ad hoc projects
• Working alongside the wider accounting team to meet deadlines
• Supporting the team with workflow and ensuring jobs are progressing smoothly
