Intermediate Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to support month-end accounting, financial reporting and management reporting across its client portfolio.

This role combines hands-on accounting with client engagement and commercial finance support and offers a salary of $90,000–$100,000 + superannuation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing month-end accounting and preparing monthly management accounts
• Preparing profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports
• Completing reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Analysing financial performance and investigating variances
• Preparing financial statements and supporting working papers
• Supporting taxation and statutory compliance requirements
• Providing clients with clear and timely financial information
• Working closely with senior managers and directors
• Reviewing bookkeeping processes and improving financial reporting

What you’ll need:

• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
• Strong month-end and management reporting experience
• Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial statements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar accounting platforms
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• CA/CPA qualification or progress towards qualification is highly regarded
